MJS Hoarding Cleanup Chicago, IL

What are the Dangers of Bloodborne Pathogens?

When you search for biohazard cleanup near me, you need a team that strictly adheres to OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standards. Blood and bodily fluids are highly infectious. If an untrained person attempts to clean a biological spill, they risk exposing themselves to lethal viruses. Furthermore, if blood seeps into porous materials like grout, carpet, or drywall, standard cleaning products will not reach it. The trapped matter will begin to rot, producing awful odors and cultivating bacteria. We utilize specialized enzymatic chemicals that digest biological matter at the microscopic level, destroying the pathogens completely.

Comprehensive Biohazard Eradication

Our biohazard cleanup services cover a wide range of dangerous environmental contaminations in Chicago, IL:

• Sewage & Black Water Backups: When a main sewer line fails, raw human waste floods your basement. We extract the toxic sludge, remove contaminated drywall and flooring, and apply industrial virucides to prevent horrific illnesses and mold growth.
• Infectious Disease Decontamination: If a property has been exposed to highly contagious viruses or bacterial infections (such as C. diff or Norovirus), we perform complete electrostatic spraying, coating every single surface in the room with an EPA-registered disinfectant.
• Animal & Rodent Infestations: Severe pest infestations leave behind feces and urine that release dangerous airborne pathogens (like Hantavirus). We safely remove the waste, sanitize the structure, and eradicate the foul odors using advanced hydroxyl air scrubbers.

Scientific Verification: Proof of Clean

We do not just rely on how a room looks or smells. To guarantee your safety, our biohazard clean up technicians use ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) fluorescence testing. We swab the remediated surfaces and place them into a digital luminometer. This device detects the cellular energy of living microorganisms. We do not consider the job complete until the meter reads zero, providing you with scientific proof that your environment is completely sterile.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Why can't my regular cleaning lady handle a biohazard spill? Standard residential cleaning companies are not legally permitted or insured to handle human blood, bodily fluids, or raw sewage. They lack the necessary hazmat suits, respirators, and EPA-registered hospital-grade chemicals required to safely neutralize infectious pathogens without spreading them further around the house.
• Do I have to throw away all my furniture if it gets contaminated? Not necessarily. Hard, non-porous items (like glass tables or metal frames) can usually be completely sanitized and saved. However, porous items like mattresses, couches, or deep-pile carpets that have absorbed significant amounts of blood or sewage cannot be guaranteed safe and must typically be properly disposed of as medical waste.
• What is the difference between sanitizing and disinfecting? Sanitizing simply lowers the number of bacteria on a surface to a safe level. Disinfecting uses much stronger chemicals to completely destroy and kill all viruses, bacteria, and fungi on the surface. We perform full-scale, medical-grade disinfection.
• How soon can you arrive for a biohazard emergency? Biological hazards escalate quickly, especially in warm weather. We operate a 24/7 emergency dispatch and aim to have a certified remediation team on-site as rapidly as possible to contain the spread of the contamination.
